The Trust Learning Path

Learn the foundations. Understand the responsibilities. Plan for continuity.

A trust involves more than signing a document. It brings together property, people, authority, decisions, records, and succession. The Trust Learning Path helps you understand those parts in a clear order, whether you are exploring a trust for the first time or preparing to take a more active role in one.

Three self-paced courses across four learning levels.

Know what you are building and why

You may know that you want a trust, but still have questions: What should it hold? Who should manage it? What does a trustee actually do? What happens when that person can no longer serve?

This bundle gives you a place to work through those questions before making major decisions. You will learn the language of trusts, explore how governance works in practice, and organize the information you may need to discuss with an attorney, CPA, or other qualified adviser.

What is included

1. Foundations of Trust & Protection

Levels 1–2

Start with five short teaching videos, a study guide, and a reflection workbook. Explore ownership, stewardship, the basic trust roles, and your readiness for the next step.

You will begin to identify: what you own, what you want the property to accomplish, and which questions you need to answer before choosing a structure.

2. Trust Structure & Operations

Level 3

Learn how trust roles and day-to-day responsibilities work through ten video lessons and an eight-module operational workbook. You will receive sample minutes and resolutions, logs, checklists, a successor handoff checklist, and a glossary.

You will begin to understand: how trustees document decisions, keep records, and prepare another person to step in.

3. Building a Private Trust: Education & Planning Framework

Level 4

Study purpose, property, people, authority, governance, and succession through 24 self-paced lessons totaling approximately four hours of video. This course includes workbook activities, quizzes, sample language, a Trust Binder checklist, and a course-completion certificate.

You will leave with: a more organized learning binder, a clearer view of the decisions a trust requires, and better questions to take to your professional advisers.

Who this is for

The Trust Learning Path is for individuals, families, business owners, ministry leaders, prospective trustees, and anyone who wants to understand how a trust is created and governed before taking action.

You do not need to know trust terminology to begin. Move through the lessons at your own pace and return to the exercises as your plans develop.

Understand the law behind a private express trust

A private express trust is created under the law that applies to it. State trust statutes, common law, and principles of equity help determine how a trust is created, what its terms can direct, and what duties the trustee must fulfill. Property transfers, taxes, and business activity may have additional requirements.

These courses help you make informed governance decisions, document your intentions, understand how property is connected to a trust, and recognize the records needed for ongoing administration.

A clearer path from learning to action

By the end of the bundle, you should be better prepared to answer:

  • What property is involved?
  • Who has authority to manage it?
  • Who benefits, and under what instructions?
  • How will decisions and records be handled?
  • Who can continue the work when the current trustee cannot act?

You can lead those decisions and bring in legal or tax review when your situation calls for it. A trust is not the goal. Continuity is the goal.

A trust is not the goal. Continuity is the goal.
